Hello everyone,

We have decided to build a solid wood house.
We now have various offers;

Exterior wall option 1 (very expensive):

100mm solid wood
+ 200mm wood fiberboard
+ 60mm wood fiberboard
= 360mm wall thickness
The provider says this house stays cool and hardly needs heating in winter.

Exterior wall option 2 (very inexpensive):

100mm solid wood
+ 160mm insulation stud (blown with wood fiber flakes)
+ 40mm wood fiberboard
= 300mm wall thickness
Offered with air-water heat pump and underfloor heating

Exterior wall option 3: Lignotrend (mid-price)

110mm cross-laminated timber ribs
+ insulation stud width selectable (blown with cellulose flakes)

Has anyone already had experience with one of these construction methods?
Are there any experts here who recommend a building method?

Thank you all

And what are supposed to be the surfaces there, or what else is added for that?

That is simply the wall construction - the question is whether loose fill or panels?

Does more wall = more insulation also apply to wood fiberboard?

Exactly, at first glance only a 60 mm difference - hence the question of how much this shifts further with plaster or brickwork etc.
