Hello,

we are considering having photovoltaic modules installed for rent on our house by a company. Instead of purchasing a solar system ourselves (which would be a high initial investment), the company offers the possibility to rent the solar modules from them on a monthly basis. The company therefore takes full responsibility for the next 20 years for the installation, maintenance/service, repair, and dismantling of the system.

The offer includes:

- eighteen 370w high-performance solar modules producing 6,154 kWh (757 kWh self-consumption, 5,397 kWh feed-in)

- one inverter

- one smart electricity meter

- option to purchase the system after 20 years

Costs: €76 monthly, from the 25th month €91.

We are now close to making a decision, especially since the obligation to install solar systems for homeowners will probably come soon anyway.

Do you have any advice/remarks/concerns/experience before we sign the offer?

Why would anyone voluntarily do something like that, the thing costs you over €20-21k in 20 years?

Buy your own system, you can get it for half the price, and make sure you optimize the area.

Owners probably not, but rather for new buildings. So don't let yourself be pressured.

Are the €91 fixed? Or will they still rise? Take a close look at this.

Tendency:
Better to invest €10k yourself than to pay for others in the long run; the company won't do this as a non-profit.

Which obligation are you talking about? Depending on the federal state, it initially only applies to commercial or private new buildings. Since your house already exists, you would not be affected by it.

If you really want something like that, get a quote for the purchase of a system and finance it with a loan. You should be able to get it much cheaper that way.

6.6kWp is also very little. More should be possible. And yes, rent is usually too expensive.

Thank you for the hints. I probably have a mistake in thinking, but at 31.89 cents*757kwh*20 years = €4,885 after 20 years of normal self-consumption With a solar system, let's say 91€*12 months*20 = €21,840 Difference (additional costs) = €16,955 5397 kWh feed-in = approx. €380 annually I am currently at a loss: Why should I even get such a system now?
