But for Andi, 80 cm of soil replacement is not enough; he would have to go down to 3.70 m until the clay layer.

Hello MarcWen,

Was the 17,000€ cost for all the earthworks on your side? So far, I had calculated 13,000€ plus the additional costs now.

However, since you had clay soil and we have artificially dumped soil material with construction debris (brick and concrete rubble), I could imagine that disposal will cost more.

Regards

Hello Müllerin,

I explicitly asked the geologist what he meant by his statement. It is indeed about only 80 cm. Through the use of geogrid, gravel, compaction, etc., sufficient load-bearing capacity is achieved.

Thank you and regards

Yes, total. There will be some small additional costs once the shell builder finally starts.

Feel free to check whether you can also use recycled material; it makes the filling cheaper.
And remember, we probably have a larger area.

Have you checked whether alternatively a foundation on strip footings is possible? We also had partly clayey soil. The alternative to a complete replacement and filling with gravel was precisely strip footings under the slab. In the end, it was about €6,000 cheaper than the replacement.
