Hello everyone,
in our apartment we have spruce plank floors that were sealed during installation. The appearance has deteriorated significantly over the years (because the floors have been used, of course). Considering the experiences with lacquer sealants (water-based), we are now thinking of possibly treating the floor in the children's room with hard wax oil. In doing so, I repeatedly encounter contradictory statements from various people. A parquet layer definitely said he would use lacquer sealant. The supplier for the floor recommended hard wax oil.
My questions (and I have not seen them answered in the forum):
1.) Since my wife is on crutches, a "slippery" floor in the children's room is unsuitable. Is a hard wax oil surface more slippery?
2.) Is the maintenance effort (formerly classic polishing) higher with today's hard wax oils than with lacquer sealants?
Regards
Peter
