Tomorrow,

last night the thought suddenly came to me:

my current working height is 86 cm. The finished one of an Ikea kitchen is supposed to be around 91 cm (?). The current sockets are 11 cm away from the worktop (bottom edge of the socket cover). That means I would only have a height of 6 cm between the new worktop and my current sockets.

How high is the finishing strip from Ikea? Moving the sockets now is not so great, maybe you can also adjust the height downwards with the feet? What options do you have there?

Thanks

The wall finishing strips are about 3 cm high, so if you want to use custom-made countertops and wall finishing strips, you can have them made to the size you need. Please ask IKEA beforehand, as there are minimum sizes due to production.

The feet have some play, 16 cm is the nominal height, the adjustment range is from just under 15 to 18,x cm, I don't remember exactly anymore. The prerequisite is that the floor is flat and level, otherwise it’s useless because you need the adjustment range for leveling.

By the way, if it's tight, you can cut off 1 - 1 1/2 threads from the Faktum legs and the stability is still there; it gave me about 1.5 - 2 cm of extra play. But that was a long time ago, so go there and look closely at the legs.

Hi,

Faktum legs in 16cm can be adjusted between 14.5 and 18.5cm. Capita legs only have a range of 1cm to compensate for height differences.

Or else consider power outlets in the countertop... But that's not everyone's thing and I don't know if that can be done with a custom-made countertop.

Hi,

basically everything is possible. However, Ikea did not purchase something like that from the manufacturer. What you can order would be the hole for the mixer tap, but that should be too small.

By the way, cutouts in laminate boards are, in my opinion, pointless. The board is not cut out at the necessary spots but only scored. In other words, you pay for a cutout but still have to use the saw yourself. The cutout simply cannot be made beforehand because the board would be too unstable for transport.

Best regards
