That is a good recommendation such thermal images. This way you can see exactly what is going on. That cannot be so expensive and should definitely be invested in.

I also think that the snowmelt can reveal the weaknesses of the house. There is also an infrared thermometer, which is not expensive. I got one of those and measure the exterior walls.
