Smoke detectors soon to require paid inspection?

In our condominium association, it works like this: Once a year, each owner conducts an inspection of the smoke detectors in their apartment (those in the public areas (hallways, etc.) are checked by the electrician) and reports this informally by email with the inspection date to the property manager. That's it.
