Good day everyone,

I am not building a house, but due to the lack of an alternative forum, I hope you can still help me.

The following scenario in the kitchen:
- Sink and siphon were replaced by me
- Since then, the water drains extremely slowly (a full basin takes 2-3 hours)
- If water is poured directly into the wall drain, it drains normally
- If the siphon is not connected to the wall (draining into a bucket), the water drains normally
- Before the renovation, it also worked perfectly

What am I overlooking?

Thank you very much for your help!

You overlook your strange construction, as long as water cannot flow up the mountain, nothing will change.

The height of the siphon equals the diameter of the pipe +1cm.

Thank you for your answer. At which point should it actually flow upwards? It may be that I misunderstand the function of a siphon. I have marked the water level in blue. The level in the siphon is the same, then water supply comes from the basin, the level rises until it flows over on the right and the water flows downward into the wall drain.

If it had to flow upwards somewhere, no water would come out when I separate the whole thing at the red marked line. But it does. The water also drains the same way when I pour it directly into the wall drain. So clogging is ruled out.

I suspect it is also the thin cross-sections of the flat siphon in the upper area, which also results in a lack of pressure to overcome the height of the siphon.

This is not a custom construction, but prefabricated parts sold by a well-known furniture store that were assembled according to instructions. If it wouldn’t work because of the cross-sections, you would definitely find more calls for help online and the siphon would no longer be in the range.

I’m afraid that my only option left is to buy a new one with a proper system.

Sorry, but even if a furniture store sells it, it doesn't look right.

What brand or manufacturer is stated on it?
