Hello forum,
I have bought an older apartment that I am now renovating. I have removed the wallpaper, underneath which a well-preserved plaster has appeared. Unfortunately, there are paste residues on it. On the internet, you read everywhere that you should wash off the paste residues if you plan to work with silicate paint or plaster afterwards.
However, the paste has penetrated quite deeply into the plaster. I have tried washing it off in spots, but it is simply not possible (within the time I have and with the nerves I have).
My plan was actually: to sand the wall with a wall and ceiling sander so that at least the superficial paste residues are removed. Then prime with Keim Fixaktiv silicate primer, then paint over with Keim Intact (a silicate slurry coating with additives such as defoamer), and then Keim Biosil.
Does anyone have experience with Keim Fixaktiv and Keim Intact over paste residues? If it works, would I regret it later?
Best regards
