Shower with glass wall or tiled wall, which is better?

I just can’t decide. At first, I thought a tiled shower would be easier to clean, but a glass enclosure looks more elegant. We have very hard water. To avoid lime stains, I would have to squeegee the shower wall daily. What do you think? Can it be both practical and beautiful? I would like it to be closed on all sides so no cold air can get in. Even with a built-in shower, I would have to install a glass door. Thanks for your answers!

Our shower is built from bricks, the water is hard, since the niche is nicely deep, you can do without a glass door. It's really good for cleaning. Schiet op edel.

We have a walk-in glass shower wall (so 2 sides tiled and one glass side). A wall instead of glass was unfortunately not possible for us due to space. Visually a real highlight, especially because of the intimate strip made of sandblasted glass. But cleaning it is a real nightmare. If I had the choice, I would never choose glass again. You see every spot, every streak. It never gets 100% streak-free clean... Even with a water softener (set to 6°dH) and wiping it down after every shower, there are always residues...

Regarding air: Our shower is 1.50m deep and I don't feel any draft while showering. Okay, I also showered for 10 years in the bathtub without a cabin or curtain and with the bathroom window tilted in every season. Maybe I'm not a good benchmark there .-)

We have two showers measuring 160x100cm with a 65 cm opening, all tiled with durable concrete-look tiles. It’s great!! We roughly level the floor and it’s done (takes 10 seconds).

I was also concerned that there might be drafts or it might be too cold. But that’s not the case because there is practically no temperature difference between the shower and the bathroom. The only reason opening the shower door is otherwise unpleasant is because the warmth and humidity remain inside the enclosure and the rest of the bathroom is colder. But when you basically shower "in the room," the whole air heats up, everything is comfortably warm, and you don’t go from a very warm environment to a normal one.

I find it more pleasant than before with a door! Especially the maintenance!!

Don't you remember those gym showers where you shower side by side in rows of five while singing battle chants? Always those wooden benches in front for the towels and such? You don't even get cold there. Even if you're not among the warmest in the row of five. Karsten
