Redo it and check it off as a story you can laugh about later. That’s the fastest way. Money goes away and comes back. Annoyance and bad mood cost good time. Time doesn’t come back. Therefore, I wouldn’t mess around with a makeshift solution for years either.

Of course, stainless steel can be soldered! Even hard or soft. You just have to know how. However, I cannot say whether the desired result can be achieved and if it then costs significantly less than a four-digit amount. "Properly" it probably only works by removing the old and installing new. A possible water damage caused by a defective shower channel would probably be more expensive.
