Hello,

I have moved and wanted to hang my wall shelf Lack in my study - unfortunately too long. I also have an almost identical shelf Persby - too short. Years ago I tried to saw a similar shelf from Otto, it was glued in such a strange way that everything fell apart. Could this happen with Lack as well? Is there anything to consider?

I don’t want to shorten it so much that there are problems with the mounting. Also, the unsightly edge would not be a problem because it would be facing a wall anyway.

The paint shelf is mostly made of air, meaning it is practically hollow inside. Therefore, shortening it is really not recommended.

The question is whether the part will then collapse or if it could be damaged on the sides when sawing.

It will especially, if it even gets a bit damp, rise like a yeast dumpling, and cutting it won’t do the stability any good, no.

It is simply better to have a shelf board cut than to cut the [Lack], because with that you simply won’t have lasting enjoyment.
