Shoddy construction in the attic or normal?

If it ever collapses, it certainly wouldn't be because of that. You lucky person, if that's the only thing during the house construction :D

For me, this would be a reason to take a very close look - the elevation is only nailed to the floor and the post is secured to the coupling with only one strap and a few nails. Whoever built this had little understanding of forces in roof construction and took a cheap shortcut. Who knows what the underlay membranes etc. look like there.
