Hello,
I am new here and already have my first question. I would like to set up a home office. Now we even have a "free" room that I can repurpose for this, but this room is very small. I am now thinking about which furniture would fit best in the room... Do you perhaps have some tips?? Which furniture can I use to achieve as much storage space as possible in a small room?? Do you have some good combination options for me?? That would be really great, thanks

Well, we have a lot in common then (I just wrote something about the display case – as I said, a confessed Ikea junkie). My office is "almost" entirely from IKEA. First, the desk: galant in white with T-legs. As an office cabinet, I use a modified Expedit shelf (see my photos) in white, since I couldn't fit a 5x5 on the wall due to space reasons, I made a 4x5 out of a 4x4 and a 5x5. Additionally, there is a small 2x2 Expedit shelf for which I bought a cover panel set (small) in walnut because I wanted to add a bit of color. The monitor stand (I work with two screens) is also from this supplier because the ones from IKEA were too big and wobbly for me.

Hi,

Expedit is already a good suggestion. Otherwise, I would also recommend Besta. There are countless "construction" options in all kinds of colors and lots of useful interiors. There is also an online planner for it. So you can enter your measurements and move the cabinets back and forth, and in the end you see the price. Oh, and you'll definitely find a desk in the range as well.

I have the Expedit desk combo in my office because it simply looks great and is also practical since the compartments are right next to the desk. The Leitz binders fit perfectly, as does everything else. The price of 45 39 euros (back then) was unbeatable!

I got MDF from the hardware store and built a shelf myself to fit the slanted wall. It turned out very nice and is often noticed by my friends... Maybe this tip could be an inspiration for DIY...

I think the BESTA desk from Ikea is pretty stylish. However, my "dream desk" is the desk from USM Haller. It is simply a design classic.

I consider the Besta to be an absolutely great alternative (I have it myself) and as a desk combination including wall shelf (450€) I think it's a very good deal.

Have fun setting it up!
