Hello everyone,
I am currently dealing with buildability according to §34. Basically, the content can be interpreted in various ways. What counts as a floor? The internet provides all kinds of wild things. The only thing that seems clear is that there are no half floors.
§2 (4) Building Regulations Brandenburg states:
Full floors are all above-ground floors whose ceiling upper edge protrudes on average more than 1.40 m above the ground surface. Floors that are exclusively used for housing technical building equipment (installation floors) as well as cavities between the top ceiling and the roof, in which rooms for living are not possible, are not considered full floors.
That means to me that the attic of a normal single-family house (houses with pitched roofs :D) counts as a full floor. Are such houses therefore also two-story? Because these are usually always described as 1.5-story, but this seems unknown to the building regulations. So can I equate such houses with city villas? Of course, referring to the floors!
A delicate topic, which is certainly regulated differently in the respective building codes/state building codes, but I am curious about your feedback.
