do you have an approved building application, yes or no? Your "OK" from the municipality somehow sounds like a phone inquiry. If a building application is approved, the lady from the office is welcome to call, but that would be relatively irrelevant until something written with a very good justification comes in.

If there is an approved building application and the municipality now wants to revoke it, in my opinion you have good negotiating leeway.

Since it fits this topic right now: We also want to build new houses, just like my parents. However, they want to build age-appropriately and only want a very small plot (little garden). Would the situation look different if the buildings were connected by a bay window? So only via the ground floor (e.g. utility room?) and the upper floor would then start only after the bay window? Would both houses have to have the same eaves and ridge height? (Okay, it is a discretionary decision of the city, but I assume that it is regularly decided that both have the same height)

I would have no problem sharing an exterior wall with my parents, but unfortunately they won't live forever. Then the question is who moves in afterwards. I love my peace
