Semi-detached house - what should you pay attention to?

We currently live in a terraced house and can hear the neighbor’s boy on the right practicing piano, on the left only the occasional chair scraping on the tiled floor. The neighbors can of course hear us when we play music, our youngest wants to become a bassist and the low tones carry well. We know this about each other and are considerate, for example in the evening hours.

It was similar in our terraced house too: while I was cleaning windows, I listened to the neighbor at her coffee gathering, where the new mothers were complaining about their lazy husbands in the evening.

But even in detached houses, on nice weather days you can hear Celine Dion from 4 properties away, one next-door neighbor argues, another calls his sons to the terrace, and sometimes you can follow parts of the conversations. It’s partly a sound story.
