Hello,

we have not yet made a final decision regarding a controlled residential ventilation system. Regardless of this, I am interested in whether a round or oval, plastic or metal duct should be installed. Furthermore, I wonder how it is ensured that the ducts remain sufficiently clean (the filters will not catch everything) so that "dirty" air is not blown into the rooms?

Thank you & best regards

Hello vigo,

use rectangular flat metal ducts, these do not build up static charge. Change the filter once a year.

Hello 6Richtige,

thank you for the quick response. Intuitively, I would have chosen round ones with a smooth inner wall. Probably a system from Zender.
I don’t quite understand why the flat ducts don’t become statically charged?
Thanks & regards

Plastic charges up, flat due to screed build-up height in the attic.

The be-all and end-all is proper planning, the choice of filters and their cleaning or replacement... the type of filter... the avoidance of condensation within the ducts combined with appropriate insulation and routing preferably not through or from... cold zones.

Also, if cleaning is important to you, there are also decentralized units whose use/heat exchanger you can clean yourself easily in the dishwasher.
