Hello dear experts,
I live in a new building, completed about a year ago, timber frame construction.
I have had a mold smell in the living room for two weeks (which gets worse when it rains), so the developer and I now have to start investigating the causes.
What worries me a bit is the sealing of the perimeter insulation (or base insulation - I am not quite sure about the definition). I don't know if everything has been done correctly or if moisture can rise into the walls/under the screed due to missing sealing.
Can you look at the photos and tell me if this has been done correctly?
On the XPS boards there is a thin layer of sealing slurry (?) and on top of that a dimpled membrane (which is not yet installed everywhere) and then comes the soil. I assume that I still need a gravel layer here as drainage to divert the water.
Thank you very much.
