Hello everyone,

I have a problem:

As can be seen in the picture, one tile is too short, creating a gap.
Now my plumber says that the too short tile needs to be replaced with a longer one. The problem is that it is already a whole tile. Therefore, one would have to remove and relay all the floor tiles in the entire room to avoid interrupting the grout line of the tiles.

Long story short: Is there a way to create a gap between the wall and the shower tray so that the gap in the picture is covered? My plumber says he wouldn’t be able to seal it properly or guarantee it.

It would be great if you have a safe solution for this.

Thanks!

I agree with the plumber on that. Why don’t you ask the tiler about the problem?

Should he seal with MS Polymer. Completely waterproof and tight, cures underwater, used on hull penetrations on ships to seal them (echo sounder, valve outlets, etc...). Practically no shrinkage. Practically never curing hard, certainly not inside, extremely adhesive without primer. Here a joint from wall-stairs, made by us to seal the gap. Saba tack white was used.

No, definitely do not let them botch it. It is not your problem that the tiler worked incorrectly. You always get annoyed! He has to measure and average sensibly so that something like this does not occur! He just has to start over. But he is the professional who gets paid for it. It is his craft, which he has to master.
