@ immermehr: A so-called "screed reinforcement" is no longer required under any of the screed standards; for tiles and slabs, it is currently an optional regulation. Now from the practical perspective of the expert: In the past, there was a considerable number of screed damages caused precisely by the installation of AKS meshes. The term "fear iron" is or was quite justified, but in several respects. So-called screed reinforcements made of alkali-resistant fiberglass fabric are, from a practical point of view, still nonsense today! They cannot be installed where they would actually make sense, i.e., in the lower tensile zone of the screed mortar; in the middle of the screed, they made no sense at all, and on top of the screed surface is the compression zone with the least deflection, so: that also makes no real sense. Short answer to your question: No, not specified anywhere by standards and practically nonsensical! Regards: KlaRa
