Hello everyone,
as is probably the case for many who have built, there are unplanned delays in our construction and we are under time pressure to move into the new house quickly. Therefore, the question arises whether certain work, such as painting, can already be carried out when there is still relatively high humidity in the house.
Here is our timeline in brief:
Mid-December: interior plaster
Then a 1-month delay because the sanitary trade dropped out...
16/17.1. rough installation of underfloor heating
23.1. screed (with drying accelerator GLASCOPLAST RAPID)
27.1. connection of one dehumidifier and fan per floor
1.2. turning on the heating with screed drying program
11.2. start of painting work
From 20.2. installation of kitchen + floor coverings
Currently, we still have very high humidity of almost 90%. According to the site manager, this is due to the heating not yet running.
I can’t imagine that we will get the humidity down below 60% by 11.2. Now my question is whether we can already start painting anyway (the plaster is of good quality, so we don’t need to wallpaper first) or whether that has any negative effects? What is your assessment?
Thanks in advance for your feedback!
Best regards,
Anne
