Good morning,

due to painting work, a scaffold will soon be erected at our place. Unfortunately, I have no knowledge about this and am uncertain or concerned about how it will be attached to the exterior wall. The house dates from 1997.

Under the exterior plaster there is a styrofoam insulation board. Below that is a 12mm Betonyp board. Behind that follows the wooden frame construction with 12cm, between the beams there is mineral wool. Then PE foil, another Betonyp board, and finally a gypsum board + wallpaper.

Are the fastenings/anchors attached to the Betonyp board?
How should these holes be professionally sealed?

Thank you very much for your help

Best not to fasten at all – scaffolds can also be erected freestanding. As long as there is enough space all around for continuous supports, it is not that much more complicated.

Talk to the scaffolder to see if they can offer a solution for this.

Good morning,

thank you for your responses. Are additional costs to be expected for a supported or free-standing scaffold? Up to what height is this possible?

Best regards

We had a top scaffold for our log house with a ridge height of 8.20m, which was also not anchored to the facade but supported. I did not notice any additional costs, as it is actually less effort to set up a few support braces than to drill dozens of times into the facade. Often this is not possible due to lack of space on the construction site. Just get a few offers with a sufficiently long minimum standing time. Each additional week cost us 250 euros gross; the minimum standing time included three months for us.
