Sanding and resealing parquet flooring

the question might be silly, but I have no idea about such things and unfortunately neither does my husband. We have an old parquet floor in two rooms and now I want to sand it down and reseal it. Is it even possible to do something like this yourself or does a professional have to do it?

Questions are never stupid. Normally, you can do something like this yourself, it depends a bit on your craftsmanship, but it is possible. Machines for sanding can be rented for a day, and after sanding, the dust should be well removed before the sealing is applied.
