Hello everyone,

we are currently planning, like most here, to buy our own home and therefore have always new questions about the topic of house/apartment construction. We want to buy an attic apartment (4 rooms) with Kfw55 standard. For the room ventilation, the construction description provides the following:

"The supply air for room ventilation (external air inlets) is provided through the window elements. The exhaust air is discharged by electric fans in the bathrooms via basic ventilation and demand ventilation. The kitchens do not receive any exhaust air because this would impair the ventilation concept, so as part of the on-site kitchen planning, recirculating hoods may need to be planned."

I have not found much about this on the internet, only that this type of ventilation with external air inlets in the window elements is used for renovations, as there is no installation space for a ventilation system here. Currently, we have a decentralized ventilation system with heat recovery in our apartment. Are these systems comparable? How do the variants differ?

Thank you very much and regards

This variant sounds to me as a layperson like the cheapest conceivable solution. No piping, no control system as would be necessary for a central solution. No communication between multiple modules, as would be required for a decentralized solution with heat recovery. A wall breakthrough for the bathroom fan, a power connection and an additional switch input for the bathroom fan, that's it.
In return: heat recovery canceled. Humidity control canceled. Tempering of the air supplied from outside canceled – it will probably be very pleasant in winter at the windows when the cold air from outside has to be warmed up through the window frame...

Good morning and thank you for the answer. I thought something similar myself, but I was not sure. For me, the term KFW55 still stands for energy-efficient construction and therefore also the question of whether this type of ventilation possibly has advantages over the decentralized ventilation system.

Usually, it's worth taking a look at the actual summer heat load!!! When I read DG, all my warning lights initially turn red! In case of problems, just ask the provider for a contractually guaranteed maximum room temperature during the summer heat period. I am fairly sure that you will hardly hear anything from this seller in the future.
Are you sure that the anonymous opinions communicated on the internet without any liability and professional training are actually economically helpful for your specific concerns? Sustainable value is certainly not obtained through anonymous internet opinions.
Professionals certainly don’t give away their knowledge for free; otherwise, they would be legally incapacitated!

Best regards.

Hello €uro,

thank you for your feedback. Of course, I am aware that statements from the internet are not 100% reliable, but usually you can get a guiding opinion as well as further food for thought. The final well-founded statement I then have to get from a specialist..

what does Max. RT stand for?

Regards and thanks

Hello,

In relation and investment for what?

Calling this construct a ventilation system is already more than bold, in my opinion.

Rhenish greetings
