Hello,

I imagined this matter to be a bit simpler when we decided to buy a room air-dependent panoramic fireplace. It was clear from the beginning that we would have to install a pressure monitor, but not that the construction company would be so uncooperative.

We have tried to talk to them about laying the data cable from the technical room (basement) next to the chimney already during the house construction, and additionally the measurement hose from the chimney on the wall next to it.

It is almost impossible to get a statement here on whether this will work. I currently feel like I am the first homeowner to do this.

Who has experience here and can say what we should do best? For the cable, we could have a conduit installed and then connect it ourselves, but how do I handle the measurement hose?

We also simply had a cable planned from the fuse box to the fireplace. The electrician will make the connection. The USA is provided by the stove builder, who installs it along with the measuring hose. Just Google Brunner USA, it is well explained and shown there... It's actually quite simple, isn't it?

Hello,

thank you for your explanation. Unfortunately, that is not the case with our builder. They do not want to install external cables and it is not just a cable probe but a special 6-core data cable with a connector. The question is how the measuring hose gets into the chimney afterwards. Was the wall at the chimney already finished for you or was the chimney still "visible"?

With the Brunner USA, there apparently is only power supply to the technical room. What did you lay there?

Sorry, at the moment only the ground floor with ceiling is done! I just had the house planner and the chimney builder communicate with each other. The chimney/fireplace work will only happen in the next few weeks, it should be finished around Christmas. I can gladly post some pictures here and report...

For me, it would first be important to know which cable Brunner USA requires? 5-core?

As I said, with Brunner you show the diagram. As far as I can see, it is simply a potential-free contact that presumably then switches off the ventilation via a relay. In that case, the USA would only function as a "normally open" contact, so it would only need a two-core cable. But that's just my thinking; the electrician knows for sure. Just to be safe, have a five-core cable installed and that's that. Can't your chimney builder say anything about it? He should know!
