I am currently carrying out renovation work on the roof ridge and would like to remove some light cross beams (approx. 9 x 3.5 cm thick). Does the house still need these beams, or were they only used for the construction process? If a replacement is necessary, would a wind bracing strap measuring 40 x 1.5 mm be sufficient? I am thinking of simply attaching a few crosses on both sides. What recommendations can you give me?

There are already wind bracing straps in there. According to that, the boards should have a different function. In my opinion, they can be removed. But I am not a structural engineer. You should ask one. You want to expand there anyway, so some kind of panels will be attached. Those also provide bracing.

I installed these wind bracings myself, but in my opinion, they are too weak with about 1 cm width. I had planned to install some with 4 cm width, but I am still not sure if they are strong enough. Another idea of mine would be to attach boards at a 45-degree angle between the beams. That means I would simply cut the same boards and then fasten them with two screws on each side.

The 1cm ribbons are not wind brace ribbons. They only hold up your insulation. Remove the crossbeams piece by piece and cover everything with OSB. It has the same function as a structural panel,

I basically like the idea! Couldn't gypsum boards over wind bracing have the same effect as OSB boards?
