Risk of water damage from an open shower?

The whole thing is tiled and the water does stay ON the tiles, and that only for a short time, since you remove any puddle outside the shower anyway after showering. You don’t constantly submerge the whole area completely underwater, and regardless of the substrate, I wouldn’t see a problem in such a scenario. It would be different inside the shower. I once had a wooden floor in the bathroom and water splashed out occasionally; nothing happened. I like it without a door and would like to avoid one; I would leave it just like this here.

The entire floor must be sealed there as well, funnily enough even a step to the neighboring room must be made but definitely no one does that.

You place a towel in front of the shower entrance. After showering, hang the towel up to dry. Done. No damage occurs.

Or a shower mat made for that purpose.
