Hello, we laid our driveway back then during the house construction, after the recycling subbase was in, with gravel, at first it was only a temporary solution so that we could enter the house with dry feet in winter. Accordingly, no filter fleece or similar was placed underneath. Now, after the subbase has settled, we want to scrape off all the gravel in the spring, even out the subbase in terms of slope and level, and refill it with gravel again, but this time with gravel stabilization. Now we would like to reuse the gravel already there. However, it is of course covered with weeds in many places (partly the bare subbase is already visible because the gravel has naturally been pushed aside) and when scraping it off, a lot of dirt will get mixed in. Does anyone have a good idea how I can clean the gravel at home? The area is about 150 sqm with now only about 2 cm layer thickness. I had thought about making a sort of water bath like a paddling pool and putting a compost grid in it for washing or something... Throwing away the gravel is simply too much of a waste for me, but of course no weeds should be filled back in. Dirt itself is not so bad.
