I would leave it. We also have this wood thing going on, but it was already expensive and is always in painting mode. It is very bare at your place now and that's probably the idea behind the cozy facade design, but I would probably add some greenery, meaning plants. A climbing plant to the left of the entrance, a bush on the right... plant pots in front of the stairs or on the platform... that already makes a big difference!
