Great, thank you very much for the advice! No, there are absolutely no obstacles, I was just not sure if a driver would do it because of the risk of sinking, but that sounds good. I will call next week and check with the concrete plant. That would be the easiest way, of course.

We have just completed 37 linear meters of foundation for formwork blocks (50 W x 25 H x 17.5 D) for a retaining wall for the terrace behind us; at our place, the front will still be faced with bricks, so the base is quite wide at 40 cm.

Only strip foundation required 2 concrete mixer trucks with 4.5 m3 each. You need 3-4 helpers for the job. One truck extended the chute with a 5 m pipe; the other one in the picture also extended the chute and mixed the concrete well on site to make it easy to shove with shovels.
You can still shovel yourself later enough for the stones

Instead of a formwork head at the top, the construction guys adapted the formwork blocks below to the slope of the ground and after the foundation dried, set them on the new concrete bed; on top then 2 rows of formwork blocks for about 50 cm height on top. The vertical reinforcement is still missing in the picture.

Hello Otus

well done.
But, I would have used a little solder. Then the connection would be neat. And for a few euros of savings.

That looks great, very similar to what I imagine – the only difference is that we have to cascade the foundation in 4-5 steps because the plot is somewhat sloped. I want to pour the steps precisely so that the height corresponds exactly to one layer of shuttering blocks.

If I may ask – how did you do the excavation for your strip foundation? Mini excavator with a very narrow bucket?

Self-dug - due to plenty of drainage pipes. The most fun was the compacted silt layer at a depth of 30-60 cm.

Wow okay, at 37 meters... That's something
How deep did you go? 80? 100?
