hmm...insurances aren't dumb either! I would strongly suspect that the original poster tried to handle it through insurance, right? Then he could at least wait through the winter. Don't you have glass insurance included in your homeowners insurance? I specifically selected this add-on for the windows, but there are definitely insurances that include something like that.

Don’t you have glass insurance included in your homeowners insurance? I specifically selected this additional component for the windows, but there are certainly insurances that include something like that

it just saves 30 € / year. meanwhile, new houses have endless glass elements

Yes, at least in the building insurance I also found that reasonable, in the household insurance on the other hand we do not have that component included.

A glazed room door was slammed shut at our place. The company came, took the door, glazed it, brought it back, and sent the invoice. The glass insurance paid the nearly 500€.
