Hello,
I had a roofer here today who was actually supposed to replace a verge tile just below the roof ridge (at about 9 meters high).
By the way, he noticed that our old prefabricated garage shows signs of penetrating moisture on the ceiling. From above, the roofing felt also looks rather old. It hasn't been tarred for ages. I had that on my list of things to tackle anyway.
The roofer said he would include it on the quote. It was in the mailbox this evening on a form. Unfortunately, it is not very detailed. For the verge tile, only €25 material is listed. But for the garage roof, €97 net per sqm is listed for cleaning, primer, talcum-treated torch-on membrane, and green slate torch-on membrane. An estimated 18 sqm area seems about right. I have to ask again, but it seems to me like a mixed calculation. For the verge tile, I would have expected some effort for ladder or scaffolding setup. I am not about saving €100. If it can be done with little effort on my part to find a craftsman and the quality is right, that’s okay. I just don’t want to pay completely exorbitant prices.
By the way, the roof has a concrete edge. Unfortunately, I don’t know to what extent covering sheets etc. are still required at the edges.
The place of execution is Erlangen. Construction is booming here. So, I’m not very surprised by the current market prices. Is this within the usual range, or should I get a few more quotes?
By the way, the roofer advertises his services by postcard in the area where he currently has a job. Still very analog. ;-) However, it seems to be reliable since all listed phone numbers and addresses are verifiable.
