Hello Ikea fans,

While assembling our new Faktum kitchen, a small problem arose. To securely screw the base cabinets to the wall and to attach the countertop, you need a bit of space inside the cabinet. However, being curious as we were, we had already inserted all 5 drawers into one of the cabinets (RATIONELL). And it seems that we can't just pull these drawers out anymore once they've been clicked into the mechanism. But basically, it must be possible to remove these drawers again, right? Is there a trick to this?

Best regards

Succiu

Hello,
thank you very much for the quick response, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work that easily for us. Maybe they renewed their patent? When I try to lift/raise the drawer, no matter in which position (fully out, half out, barely out, and everything in between) some part tends to crack before the mechanism loosens, at least that's how it strongly feels :/

Ah, after further searching and trying, we have now found the solution. If anyone else has this problem:
There are basically 2 ways to release the drawers from the rails.
With the first method, you should be able to see the white plastic that is mounted on the drawer through a small window in the hinge on the underside, approximately 5 cm behind the front panel of the drawer. You can push this plastic piece upwards with a screwdriver and thus release the drawer.
For the second method, the front piece of the drawer must be removed. The white plastic mounted on the drawer becomes visible and is securely locked into the grey plastic of the hinge. With a flat screwdriver, you can poke into the slot between these two parts and release the white part upwards from the lock.

Regards,
Succiu

I recently faced this question as well - after all, I went to IKEA and had it shown to me.

The pull-out method is quite frightening and you have to proceed with considerable force. Especially when you take the drawers out for the first few times, you have to pull very hard - but it works (and please not by the drawer handle - you might have it in your hand afterwards...)

Attention:

Do not pull out. Over time, the track will be damaged. Always use the screwdriver method.
