@ No, no, I would definitely apply for a construction company, I wouldn’t do something like that on my own ;). But it would be easier to do if it wasn’t a load-bearing wall. Now a silly question. If you assume a load-bearing wall and have it done professionally, then you don’t need to get a structural engineer, right?

How is it supposed to be professional if you leave out the structural engineer / civil engineer?

Just slamming in a steel beam by a mason is not okay o_O

No one here can simply judge that. Walls not only bear loads from above but also brace the house internally. I seriously doubt that anyone here will advise you to do it with a company or privately by trial and error.

If you hire a construction company for this, the construction company will also secure it structurally and plan the procedure. You do not need to plan the procedure in detail. That’s what you go to a construction company for.

Go to different companies and get a quote. Make sure that the offer is based on a load-bearing wall.

Yes, that is completely correct. Meaning, that it is a stupid question. Suppose it is not a load-bearing wall, and also not capable of being one. And then you have a steel beam support it. Then you can't scream "ouch" fast enough, as the steel beam will sag more than any Manta.

Are you avoiding going to the structural engineer to carry out the renovation without approval? - "with a little wire you're perfectly connected" does not work like that in construction.

All right, thank you very much for your advice. I will get the floor plan of the house from the building authority and then dutifully go to the structural engineer with it. As it looks, it’s not as simple as I thought. Then I am definitely on the safe side.
