Hello, we have cut down some spruces on our property. Now there are still some stumps where the garage is supposed to go, the largest about 60 cm in diameter and approximately 2.5 m away from the neighbor's garage. Can the excavator that is also digging the hole for the foundation handle this? Could the roots have already grown under the neighbor’s garage, i.e., could it be damaged when removing the stump? Or what would you suggest?

The excavator can handle that.

Spruces have shallow roots. I assume they are already under the garage. Dig a few holes at the edge of the garage.

When removing the stump, the root runners are cut off or sawed off with the chainsaw and remain in the ground. The garage should not be damaged in the process.
