We wallpaper a lot... want it to be perfect. Therefore, Q3 is applied everywhere underneath. The only exceptions: utility room and dressing room..

It’s not that much more expensive overall. I guess 6..7k (haven’t received a bill yet).

What are you wallpapering? Patterned wallpapers? Then Q3 is required. Woodchip or fiberglass is sufficient with Q2.

all non-woven wallpapers (I think it's the same for patterned wallpapers). We sometimes paint over them..

We currently have the topic as well and our experience/procedure: our painter is doing the bedroom, large hallway and small corridor, living room and kitchen in Q3 (we now have good to very good Q2), then our desired color or photo wallpaper on top, but before that, waste wallpaper on the wall. The other rooms have been sanded where there were rough edges or small holes filled. Then drywall paint (white) applied twice and it looks great. We have found from experience, also through talking to the painter, that much depends on how the walls were handed over and how personal perception is.
