Reinforcement mesh before tiling, interior wall

Good day!

I have the following question for you..

I want to extend an existing interior wall by about 70cm, using Ytong stones.

Since I will prime and tile the entire wall (new and old) afterwards, I was recommended to use a reinforcement mesh before tiling, which I process with adhesive and reinforcing mortar, let it dry, then prime again and then tile..

Now my question: is the described workflow and product selection exactly right? Do I even have to prime the dried reinforcing mortar before tiling? And do tiles glued with flexible adhesive generally hold on reinforcing mortar?
