Red little balls in the garden bed - what could that be?

Hello :)

The title says it already. I have discovered small red or orange-colored beads at various spots in the bark mulch in our bed. The beads are soft and can be crushed.
Does anyone know what this could be? :oops:

Could these possibly be mushrooms? … the wood chips create a rather acidic-moist environment.

Could be the beginnings of the "Blutmilchpilz".
