Hello,

I am currently planning the recessed spotlights on the ground floor. I have learned that I need to use a recessed mounting cup to avoid conflicts with the insulation. Now I have noticed, for example at [Bromberg], that it is pointed out that the recessed light must not be installed in a mounting box.

I wanted to install a recessed spotlight of this kind with a GU10 in 5 and 8 watts, depending on the lighting.

For this, I now need your help. Which recessed light would be approved for the recessed mounting cup?

It is important to me that the lights can be replaced or that I buy recessed spots without lights so that I can vary them.

Is there a cheaper recessed mounting cup than those from Kaiser and which ones are recommended?

Thanks for your feedback

There are simply a few details missing:

- What is the ceiling structure? Beam ceiling or reinforced concrete? I rather suspect the former if you are starting with the insulation?
- Which installation box are you using? After all, you want to know which luminaire you can use for this?

Are these 5w or 8w LED floodlights?

I thought I would put the cart before the horse. I choose the recessed spots first and then a fitting downlight. 5/6 and 8 watt lights in neutral white will be installed. Yes, it is a beam ceiling!

Well, with LEDs you certainly won't need a recessed lighting housing because they don't get hot. That's why I asked.

But it was recommended to me. I prefer to do it without and save the money! So I can definitely plan without it even if there is insulation material or insulation foil directly behind it?
