Hello everyone,

Last week, the excavation pit for our planned single-family house was dug. To secure the pit, tarps were fastened to the slope. Four days ago, there was a storm and the tarps tore. We informed the contractor about this. He wanted to fix it the same day. Three days ago: same situation, the tarps were hanging all over the place. Two days ago: same situation, called again. The responsible basement builder had no time and said he would take care of it on Saturday. Yesterday, it rained heavily and the excavation pit filled with water, which we informed the contractor about yesterday. He said we didn’t have to worry and that he would fix it. So far today, nothing has happened. We can now use the excavation pit as a pool and the tarps are now in the water.

What is to be done now?

Best regards, wanderjupp

Hello,

nothing, unless it says in the work contract/BB that you have to take care of it

Are there houses/garages on the left/right side of your excavation pit?

Thank you very much for your answers!

No, no houses or garages next to the property, as it is a new development area.

I wouldn't worry about that. The water will be pumped out.

The water will either seep away or be pumped out. In the case of stagnant groundwater, it is pumped during the construction phase to dry it out. Nothing unusual. Quite interesting that [Planen] were even laid on the slope?
