I was very sure until now that this is possible. The seller's wife, for example, lives in Germany (listed as a 50% owner in the land register) and could represent her husband without a power of attorney. The husband would then only need to confirm this abroad, for example at the embassy. It would probably also be relatively unproblematic through other third parties.

Please correct me if I am wrong here.

Exactly that was not possible for us without a power of attorney. My wife was ill and therefore could not appear. She could have come by later and signed.

I also thought until now that neither buyers nor sellers need to be physically present and can be fully represented by third parties. But I will ask the notary again.

To my knowledge, this is only possible with a notarized power of attorney.

I think the solution from is deliberately chosen so that anyone interested can assemble the link themselves. Even though the terms and conditions explicitly prohibit links, we already distinguish between links to information pages and links for advertising purposes.
