Hello dear forum, I am a bit at a loss and came across this forum through a Google search.
I will describe my problem. I would like to turn the kitchen into a bathroom. The problem(?) is the old drain pipe with the diameter DN50, which I have already removed from the basement up to the top floor and will replace with a thicker one.
Question 1. Which is recommended for a toilet? So far, most people have told me that it should be at least DN100. However, I found a report in which it was allegedly tested that DN80 is completely sufficient, provided no 9-liter flush is installed, which I do not intend to do.
The other problem is that in the basement the DN50 pipe runs/ran into a cast iron pipe that leads to the sewer. That means that with the DN80 or DN100 drain pipe I could at most go down to DN50 with a reducer to connect it to the sewer.
However, using a DN50 pipe as a drain will not work well for long, even if it is only the short section to the sewer, right?
Thank you for any help,
best regards
