Protecting freshly laid parquet - how would you proceed?

I also used thicker paper (in rolls) for my condominium. It almost completely absorbed the water from my initially overflowing shower (10 min rainshower) over an area of about 35 sqm. However, the move did not go without damage to the newly installed paper, nor did it withstand dropped tools from the bricklayers who still had to make repairs. Therefore, I would lay this at least twice!
