I have 2 rooms in the basement, one contains the model railway, the other is the technical room with a washbasin / washing machine, boiler, heating. My idea: I want to prevent water from entering the adjacent room in case of a flood, as the effort would be very high if the floor had to be renewed.

I have been researching for a while and came across keywords like 'absenkbare Bodendichtung' 'Garagentor Bodendichtung' 'Dusch-Wasserschutz'. I am even willing to step over an 'obstacle'.

What would you do?

Best regards Michael

It essentially depends on the threat level. What kind of flooding are we talking about here? Water damage in the boiler room? Heavy rain? River? Is there a drain in the boiler room, and if so, is it protected against backflow?

Hello, this is not a flood zone. The threat situation only comes from the [Technikraum]. There is no drainage. Best regards

Well, that was also my question, where the flood should come from.

Next question: why should there be a flood from the technical room? I rather think there is an electrical and fire damage in the hobby room itself.
Otherwise, I would simply put 3 sandbags in front of the door.

There is a washbasin where the supply line can tear, a 200L boiler that can leak, a main water valve, a washing machine. Electricity and fire hazard were not my question. Sandbags are obviously very impractical if I had to put them down every time.

Then you should have put your train room into a containment basin. If the main water valve really becomes leaky and hundreds of liters run out, it doesn’t just go through the door, but also through the walls. Put a leakage Shelly in the utility room and make a threshold at the utility room (inside or outside depending on the door opening direction).
