Hello everyone,

we have now found a suitable plot of land.
We want to 'apply' for it this evening.

Since we are unmarried, we want to share the land costs (half/half).

Since the plots are awarded by the municipality, there is a fixed notary who handles the contracts.

What do we need to consider here?

First of all, nothing. Take a look at the contract draft when you have it. Ask questions here or grill the notary, he is very well paid for that.

But! Such contracts can usually not be changed in exactly 0 points, as they will be standard contracts that are the same for all buyers.

That has nothing to do with being unmarried or married. You have to decide who is going to become owner to what shares.

We want to finance the house together then. It is certainly possible that we share the shares exactly 50/50, right? In my opinion, that makes sense.

Of course, that is possible - you just have to inform the [Notar].

Exactly, that is no problem!

In all other cases, it should apply here that you will probably receive a "standard contract" and either sign it as is, or the municipality will do business with someone else. However, these are also normal contracts that do not contain major problems. Possibly there may be a construction obligation within x years or something like that, but major pitfalls when buying from the municipality are rather unlikely.

Nevertheless, the rule is: read the contract carefully before signing.

You were already advised in your other thread about when something other than a flat 50/50 would make sense.
