Good morning,

I have a small problem with the new remote control for our garage door opener brand "Parkside". I do not have an exact model number because there are no documents left. Our tenant for the garage bought a new remote control some time ago. According to him, he only managed to program the new (see photo/black remote) remote control by "pressing buttons randomly."

It then seemed to work well. Now a new tenant is coming soon, and I had to change the battery in the new remote. However, it no longer works. The old gray remote control (see photo) still works.

I found a user manual for some Parkside garage door opener. According to it, you have to press a red button on the garage door opener and then press a button on the remote control. And that’s it. Unfortunately, this does not work with the new remote control. The new remote basically works, meaning when I press a button a green light comes on. But the garage door does not move. It even happens that the old remote no longer works. When I perform the programming procedure for the old remote, a light on the garage door opener starts blinking, the larger light turns on, and the old remote works again. Unfortunately, our former tenant no longer knows where he bought the remote. So I cannot inquire there either. I am really at my wit’s end. Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks in advance.

It will be a standard China 433 MHz transmitter. Check on eBay or YouTube for such transmitters, you might find a suitable guide there …

Open the housing of the drive, there is definitely a label inside. Then write to the manufacturer and that’s it.

As already suggested here, identify the type/model of the drive, google the manual. For the transmitter(s) as well. (Just turn the transmitter over, it's written on the bottom…) btw: when changing the battery, the transmitter usually does not lose the settings - unless it is defective.

And in the end, they are simply toggle switches to set the code.

But not with these remotes. They are far too small for that. That used to be the case with the large "boxes" with a 9V block battery.
