Since we had already been to 2 independent consultants and the Sparkasse (they offered us 1.45%), we more or less knew where things were heading and that financing was not a problem.

I don't know to what extent the bank now offers more. Our amount is turnkey. We were simply in a position where we could practically set our desired amount ourselves, to still have enough buffer in reserve.

My opinion:
It depends, for example, on how much you have in it.
I would let it continue.
But if it's not enough for the house, you would have to reconsider.
Just see what the bank says.

There are about €5000 in it as a payout amount if I were to cancel.

that's not what it's about, but you can certainly use it for other things around the house.
it was only about 23 €/month over the last 16 years
