Problems with water Water heat pump

Hello everyone We put a groundwater heat pump into operation 6 years ago. Now it has a total failure. Heat plate exchanger leaking and presumably as a result also the compressor. There are also problems with the same heaters in the neighborhood. Are groundwater heat pumps so delicate? Do you have to make a second heating circuit? Do you also have problems?

The heat exchanger in heat pumps is actually always the same system - whether the working fluid is heated by wind, geothermal heat, or groundwater. In the heat pump system, no water flows, but a so-called working fluid circulates in a closed loop (heat pump > groundwater > heat pump).

One would need to investigate why heat exchangers and compressors break down and which components exactly are broken. Perhaps the working fluid is incorrect, the working fluid line is leaking/diffusion-open (oxygen penetrates, causing corrosion)... Maybe 6 years is also a question of component quality for the mechanics of the used compressor. As said, this needs to be investigated.

we have exactly the same problem with our heat pump! also a bit over 6 years in operation and now the plate heat exchanger is leaking. apparently due to sedimentation. also a total loss!
although we have a maintenance contract with a company that comes once a year and cleans the filter and other minor things, but unfortunately they were last here in 2009/Dec. of course, whenever an error message was displayed, we cleaned the filter in the meantime, but that didn’t help at all and now it’s like they are all passing the blame to each other and no one feels responsible. we will have this closed system inspected by the manufacturer, also have our groundwater checked for changes and probably have to buy a new heating system. definitely a nuisance. i just hope for the quality of the individual parts of the new heating system (apparently stainless steel).
