Hello to all forum participants,
I have been a silent reader here in the forum for a long time and have already gotten some questions answered this way. Now I have a question and hope that someone can help me before I contact our structural engineer about it: In 2013, we built a staggered shed roof house (KFW70 standard) and moved in at the beginning of 2014. I am now considering equipping the attic in our large shed with a substructure made of 50x30 squared timber and laying tongue-and-groove boards about 22mm thick on top of it so that we can use the attic as storage space. The attic is insulated, under the insulation there is a vapor barrier, and beneath that the typical construction of battens and drywall panels. I now have a problem with our structural calculation: Either I am too stupid to read it correctly, or there is a missing specification: The indication of the maximum force/weight with which I am allowed to load our attic. I would be glad if a specialist could comment here whether I am overlooking something or if the specification is actually missing.
Greetings from Frankenthal,
Marco
